Digital Work in Eastern NC

Since 2013, Peletah Ministries has been at the forefront of addressing the digital divide, beginning with its first device distribution to ensure underserved communities have access to essential technology. This commitment has extended through initiatives like device distributions at the Joseph Community Farmers Market, directly reaching families in need. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Peletah Ministries expanded its efforts with digital education classes for parents and students, equipping them with the skills and resources necessary to navigate an increasingly digital world. Through these ongoing efforts, Peletah Ministries continues to bridge the digital gap and empower communities with access to technology and education in rural communities.

""Dr. Dawn Gibson, Executive Director of Peletah Ministries in Craven County,

credits the program with helping to keep their programs going through 2020:

"The BAND-NC funding allowed us to make sure that the families we serve had the

resources to maintain learning and access resources to support academic gains.

It was a tough year for so many families but this funding helped ease the strain

and that was a huge asset for these families.”
